Will I receive an order confirmation?
After you have placed an order in the webshop you will receive a confirmation e-mail.
How can I pay for my order?
You can pay in our webshop with iDEAL via your own bank or with your credit card. The prices shown include VAT and exclude shipping costs.
When will my order be delivered?
As soon as we receive your order, Wilma goes to work for you! She ships all orders placed before 6 p.m. the next day. So if PostNL is not delayed, you will have your order within 2 working days (in the Netherlands).
What are the shipping costs?
The shipping costs within the Netherlands * Belgium are € 3.95. If you order for € 20 or more, shipping is even free!
Can I also order outside the Netherlands?
Yes you can! See below an overview of the shipping costs. We do not yet deliver to all countries as standard, but we can arrange this for you. Contact us at info@maametumi.com if your location is not listed yet.

What is the best way to wash my product?
- Wash on a short program with a maximum temperature of 40 degrees.
- Keep light and dark laundry separate.
- Wash inside out if possible.
- Hang to dry in the shade, out of direct sunlight.
- Iron at a maximum temperature of 150°C.
- Iron inside out if possible.
Our products are made of 100% cotton. The fabric may feel stiff at first, but it will soften after washing.
Where do you buy your fabrics?
The fabrics are purchased on the market in Kumasi in Ghana, which is the largest market in West Africa. We buy our fabrics from local market women so that we can be sure that the money ends up in the right place and not from a large dealer. Many prints only appear once and if they do come back, we never know when. So, in love with that one print? Better order soon! †
Are all your products handmade?
All our products are handmade. From drawing the pattern, to cutting the fabric and then stitching each product together. This means that no product is 100% the same. We think this is fantastic because it gives you a really special product with a story.
Who makes your products?
All our products are made by the women of TUMI Ghana, a women empowerment project in Kumasi, Ghana. They train women to become seamstresses and then these seamstresses are given the opportunity to earn a basic wage in addition to their work as a fashion designer by sewing the products of Maame Tumi.
Is Maame Tumi Fairtrade?
We are not (yet) certified as fair trade. But at Maame Tumi, our main goal is to create well-paid work for the women of TUMI Ghana. They are paid per item they sew, which means they can earn well above average wages on a full-time basis. In addition, we use the profit so that we can train even more women in Kumasi.
My favorite print is sold out, will it still be in stock?
When a product is sold out, the chance that the item in the same print will be back in stock is minimal. We make a maximum of 12 items of each product so that you are sure of a really special product.
